Return Policy

Return & Refund Policy

We want you to be delighted with your Halloween purchase. If something isn't right, we're here to help.

Return Window

30 days from the delivery date. Items must be returned unused, unworn, in original condition, and in original packaging with all tags attached.

Eligible for Return

  • Unopened, unused items in original packaging
  • Items with all original tags and accessories
  • Defective items (contact us within 7 days of delivery)
  • Wrong item received (contact us within 7 days of delivery)

Not Eligible for Return

  • Used, worn, washed, or opened costumes
  • Used or activated fog fluids and consumables
  • Items without original packaging or tags
  • Special-order or clearance items marked "Final Sale"
  • Items purchased more than 30 days ago
  • Items returned without a Return Authorization

Digital Products & Subscriptions

Hauntloot sells physical Halloween merchandise only. We do not sell:

  • Digital products (downloadable files, e-books, printables, streaming content)
  • Subscription services or recurring memberships
  • Software licenses or activation codes

All our products are tangible physical goods shipped from our Phoenix, AZ warehouse. All returns follow the standard 30-day physical-goods policy described above.

Restocking Fees — Summary

  • No restocking fee on defective/damaged items — we cover full return shipping and refund 100%.
  • 15% restocking fee on non-defective returns of animatronics, inflatables, and props over 4 ft.
  • No restocking fee on costumes, indoor decor, and accessories under $30.
  • No restocking fee on any order cancelled before shipment.

How to Return an Item

  1. Request a Return Authorization (RA): Email info@hauntloot.com with your order number, the item(s) you'd like to return, and the reason. Do this within 30 days of delivery.
  2. Receive RA instructions: Within 1 business day, we'll reply with an RA number and the return shipping address.
  3. Pack the item: Return the item in its original packaging with all tags and accessories.
  4. Ship it back: Use a trackable shipping method. Write the RA number clearly on the outside of the package.
  5. Refund processed: Once received and inspected (typically within 3–5 business days of receipt), we'll process your refund to the original payment method.

Return Shipping Costs

  • Our error (wrong item, defective, damaged): We pay return shipping. We'll email you a prepaid label.
  • Change of mind, no longer needed, ordered wrong item: Customer pays return shipping.

Restocking Fee

A 15% restocking fee applies to non-defective returns of animatronics, inflatables, and large props over 4 ft in size. Costumes, indoor decor, and accessories under $30 have no restocking fee.

Refund Timeline

After we receive and inspect your return:

  • Return inspection: 3–5 business days
  • Refund issued to original payment method: Same day as approval
  • Refund appears in your account: 5–10 business days depending on your bank or card issuer

Total time from delivery of your return to funds available in your account: approximately 2–3 weeks.

Refund Method

Refunds are always issued to the original payment method used at checkout. We do not issue refunds in the form of store credit, gift cards, or checks unless specifically agreed upon in writing.

Exchanges

We do not offer direct exchanges. If you need a different size, color, or item, please return the original for a refund and place a new order.

Damaged or Defective Items

If your item arrives damaged or defective, contact us within 7 days of delivery at info@hauntloot.com with:

  • Your order number
  • Photos of the item and packaging showing the damage or defect
  • A brief description of the issue

We'll arrange a free return and either send a replacement (if available) or issue a full refund including original shipping.

Order Cancellation

Orders can be cancelled for a full refund before they ship. Once an order has shipped, it must be returned per this policy after delivery.
